BBQ Party for the ISG team on 22 March 08

Some of us might be wondering who are the faces behind the ISG group? Here's some snapshots of the wonderful and enjoyable BBQ party at our boss Michael's place - who had graciously open up his place for us to mess up!

The BBQ was indeed very fun & enjoyable & the food is really yummy!!! To name a few - there are satays, prawns, salmon, sting ray, sotong, garlic bread, lamb, beef, corn, salads, fruits, desserts, chocolates, wine, beer … oops. Pease don't drool! =P

Though there was a super heavy downpour that afternoon, the weather was really nice and cooling after that, hence making it perfect environment to have hot BBQ food on a cold wet weather. Of course, not without the flying cockroaches and mosquitoes attacking us but this did not hamper our moods to enjoy ourselves at the BBQ.

First presenting ...... the self sacrificing Cooks!!! willing to stand behind the fire and charcol and consuming the smoke just to barbeque wonderful cooked food for us.
Skillful & highly professional. No burnt marks at all! Full marks for you guys! 10/10 =)

Chefs hard at work.

We are manning the food station :)

Everyone was practicing “Prawning”. The prawns were really really huge, juicy and fresh!!! We were snatching over them! Literally.
*cheers to Benson & Fauzan*

Poor Lin Chong (in orange) can only see us savour the juicy big prawns cos he's having a fever. Who says no prawns allowed if you are having a fever? But well, his portion was quickly shared. Make a guess who was that? Hint : Obviously peeling the prawn .... = )

The professional cooks! Michael & Ricky

Food tastes as good as it looks in the picture.

Here's the team and see how happy and well fed we are.

It's definitely a successful BBQ as we've had loads of fun!!! It was a different environment for a change where the staff and DTs have more communication out of the normal serious environment. We cooked alot, chitchat alot, ate alot, laugh alot, joke alot ... Yes, we're a fun bunch of people though we may look quite serious but remember never to judge a book by its cover.

Feedback : Boss, when is our next BBQ?

Cisco Express team in the Philippines

First time in PH, but have heard a lot about how friendly Filipinos are. The traffic here is really bad and you can expect to drive against the traffic in times of emergency.

In Philippines, I have worked with a lot of System Engineers and they are very friendly and helpful. One of my tasks in Philippines was to backup almost the whole of Cisco Express but to do so will require a lot of time. I work closely with them and arrange a proper schedule to do the backups.

The most important thing, welfare of Cisco staffs, was very well look after. I was given USD$60 per day to spend on food and transportation. Of course I wasn’t able to spend that much a day because I’m on-site the whole day. I ordered dine-in breakfast almost everyday and dinner on one of the day.

Apart from working in Philippines, the working environment in Cisco is very good. Cisco is ranked 6th in Fortune’s “Best Companies to Work For”. We have free flow of Oreo cookies, coffee and can drinks as and when we like. The working culture in Cisco, at least for me, is that we don’t have to follow day by day tight schedule but at the end of the day, we have to finish our task(s).

In summary, I just enjoy a lot working in Cisco because I learnt a lot here too.

Cheers,
