OIPP in France!

Our 6 students (3 from DECC and 3 from DMIT) who went for OIPP in Paris, France have just touched down to the sunny island yesterday morning!

They were sent to École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Électrotechnique et Électronique for 2 and a half months for their industrial attachment, and boy, looking at their online photos, they must have thoroughly enjoyed themselves, while working on their projects!

Stay tuned for this space as we bring you their reflections and thoughts on this trip-of-a-lifetime! But please do give them some time to settle their still-excited mind (*wink* as I understand, a French guy will be landing in this sunny island very very soon... hehe.. *wink*) and get back to normal life. 8-)

FYP Project Exhibition

Last Nov, we had our mini FYP Project Exhibition for our DMIT P6 students, and what an event the 3 days was! 8-)

This is a time for the students to showcase and explain to lecturers what they have been doing for the 12-weeks FYP. Students were enthusiastically demo-ing their hard-work to the visitors and are proud of what they had achieved and learnt in the 12-weeks FYP!

Hope they can maintain such enthusiasm during their IAP and in their future employment or studies!

Sterling Group Web Design Competition 2006

Our students did us proud by winning the 1st prize in the Sterling Group Web Design Competition 2006!

The 4 students developed a dynamic multimedia-intensive web site on the use of engineering to address the challenges of global warming. Their winning website was judged based on the imagination, creativity and flair amongst the competitors.

Well done Chee Wee, Claudia, Zheng Guo and Tang Chee from the Class of 2006!

Welcome to the most happening place!

Why do we call this blog "Outside the LT"?

Well, as we all know, the benches outside the LTs (especially those outside LTN) are the places where students usually hang out! Its the place where they do their homework, their projects (ARGHHH, *pull hair*), and of course not forgetting gossips about lecturers, modules and so on! So similarly we want this place to be buzzing with activities as well, and we look forward to contribution of articles from all of you!

Yes, we want you! If you have interesting articles to contribute, don't hesitate to contact us, and we will do the rest!
