MarketPlace Results AY2007S1

The OLT team is pleased to bring to you the results of the marketplace fight-out for AY2007S1.

Winners
Most Profitable : Simplicite
Balanced Scorecard : Nexus Empire

The detailed results are as follows :

NAPFA

In response to Xiao Bai's request to post about NAPFA, the OLT camera lady went on the NAPFA trail. As you can see, you are provided with highly proficient trainers for all your training sessions prior to the test. ( You did not think you could just go for the test, did you ?).

Is NAPFA so boring that the guy in blue below got to take a NAP ?

Youth Day ... :(

A year 1 student called me recently to ask about whether there are lessons on Monday cause all the primary, secondary and JCs' students are having off day due to Youth Day. I was bemused and informed him in an official sounding manner that Youth Day's off does not apply to him anymore. Hmmm ... poly students are of course still youths, but you have to celebrate it in your own fashion and ways though.

NYP Silat Team are IVP champions again !

The NYP Silat Team are IVP champions again! The tournament, held in NUS on the 2,3,9 and 10 June ended last Sunday. We clinched 6 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes to retain our title. Winning the championship 2 years running really proves that we are the dominant force in tertiary level. For me it was a great experience to participate in the tournament. The atmosphere was magnificent. The intense rivalry and the immense pressure on your shoulders carrying NYP's name. All the institutions put up a great performance. The participating teams are all the 5 polytechnics, NUS, NTU, SMU, MI and ITE. Congratulations to all of us for being the best of the best. Haha. All the hard training for the past one year paid off. Let's enjoy the success together. =)

Bonjour

NYP has been the home to several French students who are currently undergoing their attachment. Have you spotted them around ? The OLT team sent our roving reporter to find out how they are doing thus far. Here's what she has gathered.

Maxime Baracco says:
I've worked in NYP since the beginning of February. This lab is highly sympathetic and quiet (important for me cause I can get easily angry in the morning if I don't have silence). My supervisor, Eliza, Jodi and Karl allow me to manage a little my time and that's something really important for a french student like me ! That's why I'm not the earliest bird of the lab... Working hard on a computer to do something blocked by the network is also very interesting ! ^_^ So far I met some friends in NYP and I really like this place, you got almost everything you need!

Michael Kulinicz says:
I'm staying in Singapore for the duration of my project (3months). Singapore is a very beautiful city with a lot of different cultures. During my project, I work in the best lab in NYP on a very interesting project. The lab staff is very sympathetic and helpful. So it's time to go back to my work.

Pierre Migalski says:
NYP is a huge school in engineering and development. The Pervasive Computing Lab proposes very interesting projects in several domains. I worked on UGV and UAV (unmanned ground/aerial vehicles). This project can have multiple applications as militaries or to save people after earthquake. The staff is very sympathetic, friendly , helpful and comprehensive. Toward working hours…lol. I don’t know what to say more, just choose this lab, it is a great one. Then back to work.
